Ryan McParland was a member of the Northern Ireland production ‘Hold Your Tongue; Hold Your Dead.’ Ryan recently finished performing in ‘East Belfast Boy’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where he picked up the Lustrum Award. Other theatre credits include Dominic Cooke’s production of ‘Teddy Ferrara’ (Donmar Warehouse), ‘Monsters, Dinosaurs, Ghosts’ and ‘Drum Belly’ (Abbey Theatre, Dublin), David Ireland’s ‘Summertime’ (Tinderbox) for which Ryan received a Best Actor nomination at the Irish Times Theatre Awards, ‘How Many Miles To Babylon,’ ‘The Civilisation Game’ (Lyric Theatre, Belfast), and ‘Doughnuts’ (TEAM).

Ryan recently finished filming on series 2 of ‘Derry Girls’ for Hat Trick Productions/Channel 4 and ‘Calm With Horses’ for Michael Fassbender’s (DMC Films / Film4). Other film and television credits include the Palme d’Or nominated ‘Tale of Tales’ (for ‘Gomorrah’ director Matteo Garrone), ‘Doing Money’ (Warner Bros. Television / BBC) ‘Special Couple’ (Zephyr Films), ‘Kodaline: Shed a Tear’ (Sony Music Entertainment), ‘Kissing Candice’ (Venom Films/Somesuch), ‘Bad Day For The Cut’ (SixMileHill), ‘Daphne’ (The Bureau), ‘Boots on The Ground’ (Last Bullet Films), ‘The Survivalist’ (Fyzz Facility), ‘Get Up & Go’ (Fastnet Films), ‘Good Vibrations’ (Universal), ‘6 Degrees’ (BBC), ‘Coming Up – Spoof Or Die’ (Channel 4), ‘My Mother and Other Strangers’ (BBC), and ‘Cuffs’ (BBC).

In early 2019 Ryan will perform ‘East Belfast Boy’ in a tour of Ireland before embarking on a US tour in the fall, playing in Philadelphia, Washington D.C and New York City.
