Corinne Portier
Corinne Portier has been a journalist-producer at RTS (Swiss public television, in Geneva), since the beginning of the 1990s. Initially trained in music (cello), she quickly turned to journalism. After receiving her degree in Political Science and Journalism in Paris, she moved to South Africa to work in journalism in 1990, just as Nelson Mandela was freed.
Covering the period of democratic transformation of South Africa was led to her growing interest in politics. She was then named permanent correspondent in Paris, where she stayed for 14 years, before joining RTS’s weekly political news show, Mise au Point, as producer and host.
She then launched a musical program (Violon Dingue), bringing together her two passions, music and journalism. Today she works as a reporter for the financial program TTC and an investigative reporting program (Temps Présent). Corinne plays cello in an amateur symphonic orchestra (O3C, Orchestre des Trois-Chêne)) and a rock group (Alice in Kernerland).
