Global Arts Corps has just returned from the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in Ireland, where we held a script and music development workshop with our cast, playwright, and composer from the North of Ireland. The Centre was left by the late Sir Tyrone Guthrie to be used as a retreat and workplace for artists. This was Global Arts Corps’ second stay at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, and we are very grateful for their support and for the inspirational work environment with which they have provided us. We now look forward to moving on to the next stage in our project – a five-week residency in Boston, Massachusetts, this fall.

From the end of August through the end of September, the Belfast project cast will be in residency at ArtsEmerson, in the heart of Boston’s historic theatre district. While at ArtsEmerson, we will rehearse and further develop the Northern Irish production, tentatively titled Hold Your Tongue, Hold Your Dead. During this time, we will also screen Truth in Translation for invited audiences, and, in the final week of the residency, present the production in four workshop performances. We hope that all of our friends and supporters in the Boston area will be able to attend. For now, please mark the following dates in your calendars:

September 6th, 7th, 13th, and 14th 2013 – Evening screenings of Truth in Translation, the documentary film, followed by audience talkbacks; and
September 25th, 26th, 27th, and 28th 2013 – Evening workshop performances of Hold Your Tongue, Hold Your Dead, followed by audience talkbacks.
