Caravan
Every war happening right now has a previous war inside it. Every genocide carries the ghost of one before. Old wounds reinfect and become our excuse to ask a younger generation to kill again. It is not being done to us—we do it to ourselves.
A cooperative endeavor between Qendra Multimedia and Global Arts Corps, Caravan is currently in development with Michael Lessac directing and Jeton Neziraj writing in collaboration with an international cast of actors and musicians from Kosovo, Albania, Israel, Palestine, Germany, Italy, Northern Ireland, the former Yugoslavia, Turkey, Armenia, the US, Iran, and the Roma community. In theatrical leaps they will travel backwards in time, reliving past conflicts by visiting their ancestral history and the identities that formed them. Caravan will also weave the voices of the children of Global Arts Corps' other concurrent project, RadioKind, directly into the fabric of the show—carrying their stories from the recording studio to the stage.
