Ryan recently toured Ireland with one man show East Belfast Boy. Last summer he played the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where he picked up the Lustrum Award. Other theatre credits include Dominic Cooke's production of Teddy Ferrara (Donmar Warehouse) Monsters, Dinosaurs, Ghosts and Drum Belly (Abbey Theatre, Dublin) David Ireland's Summertime (Tinderbox) for which Ryan received a Best Actor nomination at the Irish Times Theatre Awards; Hold Your Tongue Hold Your Head (Semel Theatre, Boston / Global Arts Corp) How Many Miles To Babylon and The Civilisation Game (Lyric Theatre, Belfast) Doughnuts (TEAM).

Ryan recently finished filming on international crime drama Cold Courage for Lionsgate - James Fitzgerald's short The Invisible Boy and ROUGH - Declan Lawn & Adam Patterson's directorial debut for Roma Downey and Gallagher Films. Other film and television credits include Derry Girls for Hat Trick Productions / Channel 4 and Calm With Horses for Michael Fassbender's (DMC Films / Film4) the Palme d'Or nominated Tale of Tales for Gomorrah director Matteo Garrone.
